Bolton Wanderers boss Phil Parkinson has revealed that an unsigned ‘piece of paper’ at Fleetwood Town prevented the Trotters pressing on with the signing of Ched Evans on Deadline Day.
Parkinson has been speaking openly about Bolton’s Deadline Day, revealing to The Bolton News’ Marc Iles that it was Fleetwood Town’s failure to sign a sheet of paper that prevented Evans moving to the University of Bolton Stadium.
Phil Parkinson says Ched Evans' collapsed move from Sheffield United came down to a "piece of paper" which was not signed by Fleetwood giving their permission to cut his loan short. #bwfc

Evans, 30, is on loan with Fleetwood from Sheffield United, with the striker scoring 11 goals and registering four assists in only 25 League One appearances for the Cod Army.
His impressive form away from Bramall Lane put him on Bolton’s radar but a deal wasn’t done.
After Parkinson’s insight there was a strong reaction from Bolton’s fanbase, with many bemoaning the club for their failure to conduct their business earlier in the winter window.
Here’s a look at some of the reaction…
So, Marc, in Fleetwood not signing the release paper, he ends up staying with them. It’s a no brainier for Joey, surely?
As you pointed out, why leave it until the last hour of the last day.
Hardly anybody is surprised, to be honest. #bwfc

I can hardly blame Fleetwood for wanting to keep him…

Can’t be right.
Everything that goes wrong is Ken’s fault.
They’re lying to you mate.

I'm waiting for the 'note from the chairman' outlining how we have come out of this window in a stronger position as he assured us we would
