Many Birmingham City fans have taken to Twitter to react to the news that Alvaro Gimenez is reportedly set to leave the club today.
According to Spanish news outlet Diario De Cadiz, the forward will join Cadiz on an initial loan deal until the end of the season.
It is understood that Segunda Division side will sign Gimenez on a permanent deal in the summer which will allow Birmingham to turn a profit on the £1.4m they paid for the 28-year-old last year.
Since joining the Blues from Almeria, the forward has struggled to adapt to life in the Championship.
Despite making 24 league appearances for Birmingham, the former Elche man has only scored on three occasions and is currently behind Lukas Jutkiewicz in the pecking order at St Andrew’s.
Having opted to sign Scott Hogan on a temporary deal from Aston Villa earlier this week, Blues head coach Pep Clotet has seemingly opted to make Gimenez surplus to requirements.

Here are some of the best responses from the club’s supporters…
It’s good business fair enough, but if we leave ourselves with only 3 strikers at the club that is a ridiculous decision to let him leave! Let’s hope there’s another striker in the pipeline (assuming we sign Bright)

Just proves how out of depth Clotet is. Brought these two Spanish players in and hasn't got the best out of them. How is he going to get the best out of any new signings. Time for him to go

Well done Blues for once, that’s a good bit of work. I’d Take a 7 figure profit on him every day of the week

Out of all the Spanish departures I’d like to see Alvaro back next season. Think there’s a player in their somewhere, all three of his finishes were very composed but just needed a consistent runs of games. I’ve no doubt he’ll bang in Segunda again. #BCFC

To be fair if thats true about the profit and what we heard about the profit on Fran, thats about 2.5 mill profit on 2 guys that have not been great. That's decent buisness and id rather see Alvaro go than juke thats for sure
