Rochdale AFC announced via their website, that Rhys Bennett has put pen to paper and signed a new contract.
The twenty-two-year-old has penned a contract of two-years and will be contracted to the club up until 2016. Bennett was one of three defenders who’s contracts automatically extended by a year this summer and Rochdale offered him another year.
Bennett has been at Rochdale since 2012 when he signed from Bolton Wanderers and has been a regular face within the first team for the Dales. The central defender has made twenty-seven appearances and scored two goals.
Bennett will now be looking at buckling down and getting prepared for life in Sky Bet League One, after getting promoted last season.
