The visitors equalised midway through the second-half with a goal from Tashan Oakley-Boothe, but the game had to be settled on penalties.

Spurs won it 6-5 after Brandon Comley missed Colchester’s 8th penalty of the shoot-out, and Spurs fans took to Twitter to react after the game.

Colchester knocked Crystal Palace out of the EFL Cup in August and were drawn at home to Mauricio Pochettino’s Spurs in the next.

Lucas Moura missed the deciding penalty in the shoot-out of that one, after a 0-0 draw in ordinary time, and after last night’s match, Spurs fans feel they got their revenge on Colchester.
