Bristol City will be looking to get back to winning ways in the Championship when they take on Rotherham United on December 10th.

Since securing all three points in their showdown with West Bromwich Albion in October, the Robins have failed to pick up another victory at this level.

As well as suffering defeats to Reading and Sheffield United, Nigel Pearson's side have been forced to settle for draws in their clashes with Middlesbrough, Watford and Swansea City.

Currently 18th in the Championship standings, it will be interesting to see whether the Robins will be able to improve their consistency over the course of the coming months.

Here, we have decided to take a look at where Bristol City would be in the league table if only goals by domestic players counted...

As revealed by Transfermarkt, the Robins would be 20th in the standings if goals scored by non-English players were excluded from their overall total.

Only four of their 27 league goals have been scored by domestic players.

Tommy Conway (Scotland Under-21 international) has managed to find the back of the net on six occasions at this level while Nahki Wells (Bermuda) has scored seven goals.

In terms of English goal-scorers, Rob Atkinson leads the way (3) while Joe Williams has also managed to chip in with a single goal.

Only nine of the 29 goals that the Robins have conceded have been scored by domestic players.

The most recent English player to net against City in the Championship was Middlesbrough's Chuba Akpom.

Hull City are directly below Bristol City in this particular table while Wigan Athletic are bottom of the standings as they would have accumulated a total of 14 points when non-English scorers have been excluded.

Luton Town lead the way in this scenario as they would have amassed 42 points.

Interestingly, Burnley would only be two points behind their actual points tally (41).

23 of the club's goals this season have been scored by English players.

In order for the Robins to climb this table, they will need the likes of Matty James, Alex Scott and Williams to find the back of the net in their upcoming fixtures.

By embarking on a winning run in the Championship, City could potentially put themselves in the position to challenge for a play-off place in the New Year.
