It's been a challenging campaign so far for Rotherham United, following promotion from League One last season.

The Millers currently find themselves battling against an immediate relegation back to the third-tier of English football, and their squad will certainly have earned their money if they succeed with that.

But just how much do some of Rotherham's highest paid players actually earn?

Here, we've taken a look at the ten top earners in the squad currently available to manager Paul Warne, according to Salary Sport.

We start this list with one of Rotherham's longest serving players, in the shape of centre back Joe Mattock.

Since joining the Millers in 2015, the 30-year-old has made almost 200 appearances for the club, and reportedly earns £3,100 per week, or £161,200 per year.

Rotherham broke their transfer record when they signed Freddie Ladapo from Plymouth on a three-year deal back in the summer of 2019.

The striker, who has since scored 22 goals in 68 appearances for the Millers, is said to make £3,300 per week, or £171,600 per year.

Harding joined Rotherham from Birmingham back in the summer transfer window, and has since featured in all 31 of the club's league games this season.

The centre back, who signed a three-year contract at The New York Stadium, is thought to earn £3,400 per week, or £176,800 per year.

Having joined Rotherham from Blackpool back in the summer of 2018, Robertson has seen much of his time with the Millers blighted by injury.

The defender has managed to make 66 appearances for the club in total, and also apparently earns £3,400 per week, or £176,800 per year.

A graduate of Rotherham's academy, Wiles is now approaching 100 senior appearances for the club, having made his debut in 2017.

The 21-year-old midfielder reportedly earns £3,500 per week at The New York Stadium, which works out at £182,000 per year.

Since joining Rotherham last summer following the expiry of his contract with Hull, MacDonald has made a total of 26 appearances in all competitions for the club.

The centre back, who signed a two-year deal with the Millers, is said to earn £4,500 per week, or £234,000 per year.

Another summer recruit of Rotherham's to earn a place on this list, is on-loan Derby County attacker Florian Jozefzoon.

The 30-year-old Dutchman, who is yet to score for the Millers, reportedly earns £5,300 a week, which equates to £275,600 a year.

Having helped Rotherham to promotion during a loan spell from Newcastle last season, the Millers moved to make Barlaser's deal permanent in the summer transfer window.

The midfielder has scored three goals and provided two assists in 22 league games this season, and apparently earns £5,400 per week, or £280,800 per year.

It has been a frustrating time for Hirst since he joined Rotherham on loan from Leicester in the summer, with the striker yet to score in 22 league appearances for the Millers.

Never the less, the 22-year-old takes second place on this list, reportedly earning £11,000 per week, which works out at £572,000 per year.

Another loanee who has struggled to settle at Rotherham this season, is Chelsea goalkeeper Jamal Blackman, who has made 20 league appearances this season.

Even so, given the financial size of his parent club, it is perhaps no surprise the 27-year-old is top of this list, earning a reported £12,000 per week, or £624,000 per year.
