Hull City are aiming for a swift return back to the Championship after somewhat of a shock relegation to League One last season.

The Tigers lost two big hitters in mid-season in the form of Kamil Grosicki and Jarrod Bowen, and that proved to be the catalyst of their downfall as they sunk into the third tier of English football.

Grant McCann is leading the charge back up the leagues though and considering the size of the club you'd imagine that they have one of the top wage bills in League One.

Let's look at the Tigers' top 10 earners as stated by Salary Sport - click the next page to see who comes in in 10th spot.

Long has been at Hull since 2018, having joined from Sheffield United.

He was a regular in their Championship campaign last season but has lost his starting spot to Matt Ingram this season - Long's weekly wage comes in at £2,200.

Jones arrived before the start of the current season from Premier League side Southampton, and despite his general lack of senior game-time, the defensive midfielder commands a wage of £2,500 a week.

Another recent summer signing, Smallwood has been around the Championship and League One all of his career, so it may be a surprise to see that his weekly wage is only £2,700.

The centre midfielder has been a regular though this season, so don't be surprised to see that figure increase.

Docherty will have likely been on decent money at Rangers, so his weekly wage of £3,200 seems pretty modest.

The 24-year-old has been good value for money since his arrival in the summer and he's looking to guide Hull back to the Championship.

Another player with a wage of £3,200 per week, Honeyman arrived from Sunderland last season and has become an ever-present under McCann.

He's another player that you'd assume would be on more, but relegation could have cut his salary significantly.

Hull's first-choice left-back sits on £3,400 per week, and he's well-worth the money considering he's a regular under McCann.

You probably won't find many more consistent full-backs in League One than Elder and that wage will probably increase should Hull find themselves in the Championship next season.

It's a surprise that Eaves is not on more than the figure of £3,600 that has been given considering he was a prolific League One striker before his move to the Tigers in 2019.

Eaves had scored 40 goals in the previous two seasons before his move to East Yorkshire and despite not exactly hitting the heights that were expected of him, his weekly wage isn't steep at all.

Heading towards the top few earners at the Tigers now and it's no surprise to see Burke up there.

The former West Ham man is probably Hull's standout defender and a wage of £3,700 a week is a bargain relatively speaking - Championship clubs will probably be looking to double that for Burke in the summer.

Coming in at joint first is Scott, who signed from Scottish Premiership side Motherwell in January last year.

The youngster was highly-rated north of the border which would explain his weekly wage of £4,100, but he's not exactly proving his worth so far with the likes of Mallik Wilks and Keane Lewis-Potter ahead of him in the pecking order.

A fully-fledged Northern Ireland international and experienced Championship player, £4,100 a week for Magennis seems to be very low indeed.

The 30-year-old has been one of Hull's leading League One players and he may be due an increase sooner rather than later.
