This week is the beginning of a new era for Sunderland, with Chris Coleman set to take charge at the Stadium of Light, after becoming Simon Grayson’s permanent successor.
Coleman is tasked with helping Sunderland avoid relegation in the Sky Bet Championship, which is looking increasingly likely after a difficult start to the 2017/18 campaign.
One key problem Coleman is facing is Sunderland’s goalkeeping dilemma, with Jason Steele and Robbin Ruiter struggling to hold down a regular starting berth at the Stadium of Light.
Ruiter has come in for extreme criticism recently, with his performance against Millwall on Saturday particularly worrying with the goalkeeper making two absolute howlers in the 2-2 draw.
Here at FLW, we asked Sunderland’s supporters if they feel it is time for Ruiter to be dropped, with that decision one big one facing Coleman during the early stage of his Sunderland career.
72% of voters in our poll voted in favour of Coleman dropping Ruiter, with just 28% in the belief that the Dutchman should retain his place in the starting XI for Tuesday night’s clash with Aston Villa.
