Thomas Christiansen has already proved he is not afraid to make big decisions, despite the Leeds United boss still adapting to life in the Sky Bet Championship.

Leeds started the season magnificently under Christiansen, but in mid-September the Whites suffered their first slump in form under their new manager, which left a number of questions unanswered, with Leeds slipping from the top of the table to sixth in just a matter of weeks.

Coinciding with that slump in form was the criticism of Felix Wiedwald, who during Leeds’ worrying run of form, failed to cover himself in glory. Following October’s international break, Christiansen made a huge call, replacing the German goalkeeper with Andy Lonergan, who has started Leeds’ last two league fixtures.

Lonergan was involved in last Saturday’s 3-0 victory over Bristol City, but stepped aside during the week against Leicester City, with Wiedwald returning for the Carabao Cup tie. The 27-year-old once again came in for criticism following his part in Leicester’s opening goal on Tuesday.

Here at FLW, we asked Leeds’ supporters whether they wanted to see Lonergan return to the starting XI for this Friday’s vital clash with Sheffield United in the Championship, with 72% of voters in our poll calling for the experienced goalkeeper to return.
