According to today’s print edition of The Mirror (page 47,) Mo Diame would like a move to Aston Villa to link up with his old boss Steve Bruce.

The Newcastle midfielder has been out of the Magpies' side more times than he has been in it this season and it appears as though he is out of favour under Rafa Benitez.

Indeed, the likes of Mikel Merino is now ahead of him in the pecking order as well as others and so it seems he is up for a move away.

Villa, then, could be a destination with it thought that Diame would like to link up with Bruce after they last worked together at Hull City.

Whether Bruce wants that, though, remains to be seen but in the meantime we thought we'd ask Villa fans on Twitter whether or not they'd be open to him signing the midfielder.

Here was the response:

Clearly, then, all the signs are there for Diame to make the move to the club but, ultimately, it is Bruce's decision. If he thinks that Diame could help Villa in their promotion challenge, though, there should be no reason as to why the deal can't go ahead.
