Revealed: 61% of voters are backing this outcome in the Steel City derby

The Sky Bet Championship returns this weekend, with all eyes set to be on Bramall Lane on Friday evening, as Sheffield United host Sheffield Wednesday in an eagerly anticipated Steel City derby.

Last weekend’s FA Cup break has added to the excitement surrounding this weekend’s derby, where we will see a new face in one of the dugouts, as Jos Luhukay takes charge of his first fixtures since his appointment at Sheffield Wednesday.

Luhukay has been tasked with turning Wednesday’s season around, with the Owls currently sitting 16th in the Championship table, well adrift of the top-six, which their city rivals are well placed to challenge for.

Chris Wilder’s side currently sit seventh in the table, knowing that victory on Friday will move them back into the top-six ahead of Saturday’s Championship fixtures.

In the reverse fixture back in September, it was the Blades who took the bragging rights of the city, with Wilder masterminding a 4-2 victory over the Owls, which came thanks to a brace from Leon Clarke and goals from midfielders, John Fleck and Mark Duffy.

Here at FLW, we asked our followers on Twitter who they thought would win this weekend’s derby, with just over 60% of voters in our poll backing Sheffield United to record a memorable double over their rivals.
