Thomas Christiansen’s honeymoon period in the Sky Bet Championship is coming to an end, with the Leeds United boss discovering just how difficult the English second-tier can be in recent weeks, with the Whites struggling to rediscover their early season form.

Leeds enter tonight’s contest with Derby County in fifth, hanging onto their place in the Championship’s top-six after five defeats in seven Championship fixtures, including Friday night’s disappointing 2-1 defeat to Sheffield United at Elland Road.

One player who disappointed against the Blades on Friday was Pierre-Michel Lasogga, who has struggled to consistently put together a goalscoring run since his arrival at Elland Road.

The German striker scored three goals and grabbed three assists in his first four Championship appearances for Leeds, but since then has managed just one goal and one further assist, as Christiansen’s side have fallen to fifth in the table.

With pressure on the 25-year-old to replace the goals scored by Chris Wood last season, Leeds’ supporters have been less than impressed with Lasogga’s recent contribution and the striker's resolve is set to be seriously tested in the coming weeks.

Here at FLW, we asked our followers whether Lasogga should start tonight’s clash with Derby County, or if Christiansen should replace him. Our poll was extremely close, but 58% of Leeds’ supporters want to see the German retain his place against the Rams.
