These are testing times for Leeds United and Thomas Christiansen in the Sky Bet Championship, with major pressure on the Whites to turn things around and begin climbing back towards the automatic promotion places.

Leeds’ early season form saw them top the Championship table in mid-September, but a worrying run of form in the last month has seen Christiansen’s side slide to sixth.

The Whites have suffered four defeats in their last five fixtures, including their last three Championship fixtures. The likes of Wolves, Cardiff City and Sheffield United have stolen a march on Leeds, whilst Bristol City and Preston North End have also moved above them in the table.

Leeds face Bristol City at Ashton Gate this weekend, with Christiansen facing a number of selection headaches. One key area of his side that has seen plenty of change this season is in defence, with Pontus Jansson, Liam Cooper and Matthew Pennington often rotating in the heart of defence.

Christiansen is looking for a consistent partnership in that area, with Jansson perhaps the only guaranteed started out of the trio. Here at FLW, we asked the question who should partner the Swedish central defender this weekend, club captain, Liam Cooper, or on-loan Everton man, Matthew Pennington.

It was close between the two, with 56% of fans edging towards Cooper in our poll.

Leeds fans… Who would be your pick? Let us know your thoughts!
