Newly appointed Reading boss, Jose Gomes, certainly faces a tough ask if he is to pick up his first win as manager this weekend, when the Royals take on promotion chasing, Nottingham Forest.

But their task may have just got slightly easier, with Aitor Karanka leaving his role at the City Ground on Friday, just a day before the two teams face off at the weekend.

Gomes has already made two signings this week, in Ovie Ejaria and Lewis Baker on loan until the end of the season, which will be pleasing to see for Reading supporters.

But how can we expect the Royals to line-up this weekend against Nottingham Forest?

Find out below...

Anssi Jaakkola will be expected to keep his place in goal for this one, and he'll be hoping to keep Sam Walker out of the side with an impressive performance.

The back four is unlikely to be changed from the defeat to Manchester United, as they hardly put a foot wrong at Old Trafford last weekend.

Omar Richards particularly impressed, and he'll be keen to retain his place in the side with Jordan Obita edging closer to a return to action.

Tiago Ilori will be expected to partner Liam Moore in the centre of defence despite him being substituted against the Red Devils.

Ilori has also been the subject of speculation linking him with a move to Sporting Lisbon, but with a lack of depth in defence options, he's likely to start.

Mo Barrow could be in line to return to the starting XI, and he could replace Garath McCleary who had a poor showing against Manchester United last weekend.

Yakou Meite could also return after being benched in the defeat to Manchester United and could replace Danny Loader up front for the Royals.
