Things have not been going well so far this season for QPR with them needing to add some consistency if they are to get near the upper reaches of the table.

The men from Loftus Road started in decent shape but some poor results have crept in and Ian Holloway needs to sort that out before too long. For sure, they are not in immediate danger of a relegation scrap but things do need to turn around quickly, particularly away from home.

It's a home game for them this weekend, though, but it is against Wolves and so it remains to be seen just how the R's do against many people's favourites for the Championship title. One thing that the R's might want to use to try and help them win, though, is their options off of the bench.

Indeed, according Stat Attack on Twitter, the R's have scored more goals via subs than anyone else in the league since 2016/17:

The likes of Matt Smith have been used as an impact sub this year and that has often worked so it could just be that Ian Holloway looks to turn the club's form around based on this stat. Many fans, though, would rather they had games sewn up earlier on.

The Verdict

This is at least something to be positive about as it suggests that the R's do have good strength in depth coming off of the bench.

Ideally, though, they need to be getting ahead earlier on in games and winning them rather having to rely on goals off of the bench and combining the two factors would be very promising.
