Leeds United picked up a crucial three points as they moved back into the automatic promotion places with a 3-2 win over relegation-threatened, Millwall.

Goals from Luke Ayling and a brace from Pablo Hernandez proved to be enough for Marcelo Bielsa's side on the day, and they'll be keen to keep their promotion chances in their own hands as the season progresses.

Leeds could have levelled the scores on the day, but Patrick Bamford saw his weak penalty saved as Millwall maintained their lead at the time.

Bamford struggled in front of goal and will certainly be concerned about his latest goal drought in front of goal, which has come at the worst possible time.

One man who will be quietly confident of replacing Bamford in the starting XI will be Kemar Roofe.

Roofe has been hugely impressive this season for Marcelo Bielsa's side, but was ruled out of action with a knee ligament injury, picked up in a win over Swansea earlier this year.

The in-form forward will be itching to get back into the squad for Leeds' next game against Birmingham in a week's time, and he has every reason to be confident.

He's proven that he can score goals at this level, and without his contribution, Leeds wouldn't be in the automatic promotion places, that's for sure.

With seven league games remaining, Roofe will need to hit the ground running, if he is to return to the squad for their game agains the Blues.

Given that Bamford is in a poor run of form, Roofe should have no doubts that he could be making more of a positive contribution to this Leeds side as they challenge for promotion to the Premier League this season.

Bielsa needs his key players at their best, and Bamford currently isn't doing that, which is sure to lead to a return to the side for Kemar Roofe.
