Stuart Dallas returns for Leeds United this weekend, and we think he could be crucial in their run-in for promotion despite not being at his best this season.

The 27-year-old has made just 15 appearances in the Championship this season, but has been missing for three months.

Dallas suffered a broken foot injury in early December, ruling him out for a crucial period of the season.

Perhaps not this weekend, but after a substitute appearance or two, Dallas could seriously impact their promotion race.

He isn’t the sort of player who gives his all and he will add some dynamism to Leeds in both attack and defence.

He has been used as an emergency full-back a lot in the last 12 months, with him being used there eight times from the start this season.

Jack Clarke remains on the sidelines after his illness, so the experienced Dallas could fill in there too and add some real quality to Leeds’ wing.

The Whites enter the weekend in third, with a game in hand on the two above them, so a win is needed.

To cite a boring cliche, every game from now is a cup final, and this is Leeds’ best chance of promotion in years, and maybe for many more.

Therefore, Stuart Dallas could be a crucial returnee and add some much needed experience, balance and creativity to Leeds’ ranks, whether in defence or attack.

The Northern Irish international will not pull up any major trees, he could be a vital part of the cogs in Leeds’ promotion battle.
