Leeds United are having a successful season thus far and find themselves one point off Championship leaders Norwich heading into what is set to be a busy festive period.

Marcelo Bielsa’s men are second in the league and remain in contention for a place in the Premier League next year.

Things are going well for the Whites at present with a five-point gap to the chasing pack in third and below.

Despite some defensive injury worries over the past few weeks, Leeds have won four in a row, losing just twice in their last ten matches.

It has been an impressive, consistent level of form for Bielsa’s men who will be tested heavily during the next two weeks with five fixtures in 18 days or so.

With that said heading into the busiest time of the campaign, we here at FLW take a look at two hot and two that are not at Elland Road right now.

The 33-year-old has been in mercurial form for Leeds United this season and has four goals in his last six matches, as well as two assists.

Pablo Hernandez seems to be getting better with age and this season is by far his most impressive.

There have been times here it looks like he has single-handedly dragged the club through to the end to get them over the line with the points, so at present he is one of the hottest commodities at Elland Road.

Returning from injury and returning to his best form, right when it is needed, too, over the busy Christmas period.

Kemar Roofe scored both Leeds’ goals to come back from a goal down to see off QPR 2-1 last weekend.

That took his tally up to ten for the season and a run of six goals in his last eight matches.

Finding form over the Christmas period is going to be crucial for Leeds if they want to continue to have aspirations of promotion.

The 27-year-old Spaniard has failed to score this season and has been a bit part player in recent weeks.

His loss of form has seen him regress to the bench having struggled to influence games at times this season.

Having provided two assists in his last four matches, things look to be improving.

But, for now, he is certainly off the boil heading into a crucial period for the club going forward.

Another player who has found form hard to come by in recent times.

The Macedonia international hasn’t scored for Leeds since the end of August and also hasn’t registered an assist since the start of October.

Players in wide areas need to contribute going forward in helping out strikers to score goals and to create them, too.

Ezgjan Alioski isn’t doing that at present but continues to be played regardless.

It is a problem for Marcelo Bielsa to solve to get the 26-year-old firing once more ahead of the busy Christmas period.
