There is never a dull moment at the City Ground, with constant managerial upheaval, and if that isn’t the order of the day, a swarm of singing is sure to liven up the Championship club.

In more recent Forest business, the manager situation at the club has once again been in the spotlight with Aitor Karanka leaving the club, wishing to be relinquished from his contract.

Fast forward four days and Martin O’Neill has been named the club’s new manager with the side ninth in the table, just four points off the play-offs.

With Karanka’s Forest career over and done with, it could be a current Reds player who could follow his former boss out of the club.

Garry Birtles in quotes via Herald Scotland is tipping O’Neill to recall defender Joe Worrall from his loan spell at Rangers.

And should that happen, Danny Fox could well be on his way out of the club.

The 32-year-old has been linked with a move to Wigan Athletic, according to journalist Alan Nixon.

Wigan are in need of a defender after Dan Burn’s loan from Brighton expired and he went back to his parent club to which he signed for in the summer.

A return for the Rangers loanee could well spell the end of his teammate's career at a club he has been at since 2014.

It is all conjecture, and Fox could well stay if Worrall is indeed recalled, but the likelihood of that remains to be seen.

It all depends on the plans O’Neill has for the club and the players he will inherit.

One thing against Fox at present is the current length of his contract – he has six months left to run on it with the deal ending the conclusion of the season.

Fox is one of the elder statesmen in the Forest backline and should Worrall return, he is ten years younger and has a bright future in the game – Steven Gerrard rates him highly at Ibrox after being persistent to land his man in the summer.

It all depends on O’Neill’s plans and should be indeed recall Worrall it might signal the end of a Forest stalwart who had revived his City Ground career under the now departed former boss in Karanka.
