According to a reliable local football journalist, Wolverhampton Wanderers are set to send Lee Evans out on loan.

Tim Spiers, who works for local media outlet The Express and Star, is reporting that Lee Evans is set to join the exodus at Wolves and leave on a temporary deal.

Nuno Espirito Santo arrived as the new Wolves manager this summer after the club sacked Paul Lambert.

So far, the former Porto boss has been very busy with his transfer activity.

There has been a major summer reshuffle with the likes of George Saville, Dominic Iorfa, Jed Wallace and Jon Dadi Bodvarsson being axed to bring in a number of players such as Ruben Neves, Willy Boly, Diogo Jota, Roderick Miranda and others.

With so many new faces coming through the door at Molinuex, Lee Evans is now on his way out.

The 23-year-old is set to be sent out on loan, although the destination is yet to be confirmed.

Tim Spiers did add in a later response, though, that Evans is not on his way to Southend United.

The former Wales under-21 international, who received his first senior call-up last season, joined Wolves in 2013 from Newport County.

Since his switch, Lee Evans has played over 50 games for the West Midlands outfit and he has one year left to run on his current deal.

He is now set for a loan deal and his future at Wolves looks in serious doubt.

The Verdict

This seems like a good move for Lee Evans.

His destination is unknown at this stage but a League One club looks likely.

With a season of regular football under his belt, the 23-year-old could really kick on and prove a point this term.

However, he must leave Wolves to do so as Jack Price, Ruben Neves, Roman Saiss and David Edwards are all blocking his path to first team action.
