Izzy Brown may struggle to fit into Tony Pulis's plans at Sheffield Wednesday, according to Yorkshire Live's Dom Howson.

The 23-year-old is currently on loan from Chelsea where he was hoping to prove himself as a top player in the Championship.

Unfortunately things haven't quite worked out how Brown would have wished.

After starting the Owls' first three games this term the midfielder has struggled for both form and fitness meaning that he's yet to really establish himself as a key first team player.

With Pulis adopting a more direct, physical style of play Howson has said that Brown could struggle to make an impression under the Welshman.

Speaking to Yorkshire Live, Howson said: "It is a good question because Brown has only featured twice as a sub since Pulis' arrival.

"I am not quite sure where Brown fits into Pulis' preferred 4-3-3/4-5-1 formation.

"Does Pulis trust him to put in the hard yards defensively? Given Pulis will be without a number of midfielders on Saturday, you have got to think Brown is in contention to start against Norwich."

The Verdict

Izzy Brown has a lot to prove at Sheffield Wednesday.

His time at the club has got off to a difficult start and that could be tricky to overcome as he looks to reignite his career at Hillsborough.

Whether he fits into the plans of Tony Pulis is up for debate, but if he's given an opportunity it's crucial that the 23-year-old grabs it with both hands.
