Nottingham Forest are working on numerous deals ahead of tomorrow's deadline-day, with Harry Wilson and Anthony Knockaert two players catching the eye of Chris Hughton.

Hughton only arrived at the City Ground at the start of the international break, replacing Sabri Lamouchi after a woeful start to the season for Forest saw them lose four Championship fixtures on the spin.

Focus is on the transfer window and getting a few of Hughton's own players through the door after inheriting an inflated squad from Lamouchi.

Quiz: Do Nottingham Forest and Derby County have these 10 things in common?

As per a report from The AthleticForest are working on a number of transfers ahead of Friday's deadline. An attacking midfielder or winger seems to be high on the agenda too, with Wilson and Knockaert of interest.

Wilson is available for a loan from Liverpool, who failed to sell the attack-minded midfielder during the first transfer window. The Welsh international was part of the Derby County squad that reached the play-off final in 2018/19. He scored 16 goals that season.

Knockaert is a promotion winner from the Championship, having helped Fulham win the play-offs last season. He and Hughton also won promotion together with Brighton and Hove Albion in 2016/17.

The Verdict

Forest's squad is well stocked, but there is a need to find a new option to play out wide. It's been seen as something of a necessity all summer and it finally looks like it will be addressed.

Wilson or Knockaert would represent fine additions to this squad. They are both really good options to have kicking around in the Championship, with Wilson's versatility particularly catching the eye.

Hughton knows he has to get the next 24 hours right if he is to start turning the ship around at Forest. A couple of strong additions on deadline-day could make all the difference.
