According to a report in the Express and Star, Wolverhampton Wanderers have the option to buy the five players who are currently on-loan at Molineux, when their respective temporary deals come to an end.

It was a busy summer of transfer activity at Molineux, with Nuno Espirito Santo strengthening his squad significantly ahead of the Sky Bet Championship season. The £15m addition of Ruben Neves stood out at the end of the transfer window, but Wolves did some other impressive business, particularly in the loan market.

Willy Boly, Leo Bonatini, Ruben Vinagre, Alfred N’Diaye and Diogo Jota all arrived at Molineux temporarily, with all five making a positive impact during an early stage of the season, particularly the latter, who has seven Championship goals to his name.

It has been revealed that Wolves have the option to sign all five players next summer, but the Championship outfit are exploring the possibility of making Vinagre and Jota’s move permanent during the January transfer window, in a deal similar to the one they agreed last year with Helder Costa.

Nuno’s new-look squad have made a magnificent start to the Championship season, and heading into this weekend’s fixtures, Wolves sit top of the table.

The Verdict

This is huge news for Wolves and their supporters, with many at Molineux wanting to see Nuno’s current crop of players stay together beyond the end of the current season.

Moving to sign Vinagre and Jota in January would be a wise move, with the duo bound to attract interest from elsewhere after a strong start to the season.

Things are looking good for Wolves in the Championship, and this is latest update will only add to the positive mood at Molineux.
