The forward had been earning raving reviews in recent seasons, after he caught the eye with a number of impressive displays for Romania’s under 21’s side at the European Championships earlier this year.
The 23-year-old has settled into life at the Madejski Stadium since his move, and already has three goals to his name in all competitions.
It has recently been reported by Digi Sport that Leeds boss Marcelo Bielsa was keen on signing Puscas in the summer, but was left frustrated as he opted to move to Reading instead.
It is also claimed that Bielsa send scouts to watch the Romanian striker in action for Inter Milan against Tottenham in the International Champions Cup, although Puscas didn’t make an appearance until late on.
This led to Leeds delaying their efforts to land his signature, which saw Reading move ahead of Bielsa’s side in the race to sign him.
The Leeds boss is believed to be unhappy with Puscas choosing to move to the Berkshire-based side over the summer, and he’ll be hoping that their failed pursuit of the striker doesn’t cost them promotion to the Premier League.
Leeds will be looking to get their promotion bid back on track this season when they take on Barnsley on Sunday, which could potentially be a tricky test for Bielsa’s side.
He’s got eery right to feel aggrieved.
Leeds are a team that are rightly one of the favourites to win promotion this season, and many would have thought that they’d be a more attractive proposition for Puscas.
He’s started brightly with Reading, and this could feel as ‘the one that got away’ for Marcelo Bielsa, and Puscas seems as though he has all the right attributes to succeed in English football.
