It has emerged that there is no clause for Queens Park Rangers striker Jordan Hugill to be recalled by parent club West Ham United in January, according to Claret & Hugh.

Hugill joined the West London outfit on a season-long loan deal from West Ham back in July, and he has made a fine start to life at his new club by scoring three goals in his opening three league matches.

The 27-year-old spent last season out on loan at play-off chasing side Middlesbrough and struggled to establish himself in the south, but he is having no such problems under the tutelage of Mark Warburton at the Rs.

Hugill's rich vein of form has come at a time where West Ham have some striker concerns of their own, as Michail Antonio has suffered an injury to leave Manuel Pellegrini with just two fit senior strikers in Sebastien Haller and Albian Ajeti.

However, Claret & Hugh are now reporting that there is no agreement in Hugill's loan deal which would allow him to be recalled by the Hammers if they desired his services midway through the season.

The striker initially signed for West Ham back in January 2018 but failed to make an impact in the second half of the 2017/18 campaign, and he has been out on loan ever since.

The verdict

This revelation will come as a massive boost for QPR fans, who may have been surprised to see Hugill make such an impressive start to his time at the club.

They would be forgiven for feeling uncertain about Hugill's arrival given his underwhelming stint at Middlesbrough last season, but has adapted well to his new London surroundings and could be a vital player for the Rs this season.

The fact they are guaranteed to have Hugill at the club for the duration of the campaign is also significant in the sense that QPR are not blessed with options in attack, so they are likely to be heavily reliant on Hugill fairly often.

West Ham may come to rue their decision to not include a recall option in the deal if Hugil continues to find the net for his new club, but they can take solace from the fact that both Haller and Ajeti have both made promising starts to their West Ham careers.
