A report in the Birmingham Mail via information in the Times has revealed that Jack Grealish's release clause sits at at hefty £45m following the signing of his new contract.

The Villans tied their star man down to a new deal earlier this week and have ensured they have protected themselves well enough should Grealish decide he does eventually want to move aways from the Midlands, with the huge fee inserted into the midfielder's contract.

The likes of Spurs were interested throughout the summer in signing the influential young midfield ace, but Villa managed to keep hold of their star man and have now tied him down to the club for the considerable future.

The £45m fee would represent a massive outlay for any onlooking clubs looking to snap up Grealish, although it remains to be seen whether Villa would indeed sell at a lower price if Premier League interest and the player's desire to leave is that strong.

Villa once again failed to win at the weekend as they drew 1-1 with Bristol City at Ashton Gate, further increasing the pressure on manager Steve Bruce.

Villa fans, what do you think? Do you think Grealish will still be sold? Let us know in the comments!
