Derby County will have to win promotion to the Premier League if they are to have any hopes of landing Liverpool winger Harry Wilson.

The Welsh starlet has been in superb form for the Rams this season, and according to the Sun, he will only have a chance of re-signing for Frank Lampard's men if the Rams can see off Aston Villa at Wembley tomorrow.

Wilson fired in 16 Championship goals for Derby in what was a scintillating campaign for the 22-year-old, who has followed on from a decent spell with Hull City by firing the Rams to the play-off final.

However, any hopes of Derby landing Wilson on another deal next season hinge solely on the club winning promotion to the top flight, with a host of other clubs on red alert to sign the young winger if no deal with Derby can be completed.

Wilson will no doubt be hoping for a chance at Liverpool under Jurgen Klopp but with the Reds flying high and the likes of Mo Salah and Sadio Mane in ahead of him, the Welshman will know he has a big decision on his hands this summer in terms of his next career move.

The Verdict

This is massive incentive to be honest for Derby, who would surely love to land Wilson on a permanent deal.

He has been simply brilliant for the Rams and there is every chance he could make all the difference for them at Wembley on Monday.
