As per Yorkshire Live, Sheffield Wednesday are 'desperate' to get a new contract sorted for defender Morgan Fox, with the full-back arguably the Owls' best player so far this season at Hillsborough.

The current campaign is on hold at the moment and Wednesday are perhaps one of the sides not too fussed if it continues or not.

The Owls were flirting with the play-offs earlier on in the campaign and even skirted around the top two but things have tailed off badly in the last couple of months under Garry Monk.

Indeed, fans have been unimpressed with a number of their players' performance levels over the course of the year, but one man that has earned praise is defender Morgan Fox.

Fox, perhaps not so long ago, was seen as a fringe player if nothing else but, this season, he has come into his own and his commitment to the cause has shone where others appear to have almost downed tools.

And, that in mind, it seems as though the Owls are ready to offer him a new deal to keep him at the club for the foreseeable future.

The Verdict

Fox has impressed this season and has been one of Wednesday's best players.

Admittedly, there are perhaps not many to pick from but the likes of Dominic Iorfa and Steven Fletcher can perhaps be mentioned in the same breath as Fox.

For sure, he deserves a new deal given the desire he has shown this season, and fans will hope a new deal will spur him on further.
