Nico Yennaris is likely to miss Brentford’s trip to Elland Road this afternoon, but Dean Smith’s side will be boosted by the return of Sergi Canos, who is back from suspension.

A report from the Yorkshire Evening Post has provided some early Brentford team news ahead of this afternoon’s crunch clash between Leeds United and the Bees at Elland Road.

Yennaris has been extremely influential for Brentford so far this season, with the 24-year-old featuring in 33 fixtures across all competitions and scoring four goals for the Bees.

However, he hasn’t featured since February 10th for Smith’s side, and is likely to sit out this afternoon’s trip to Elland Road due to injury.

Canos will hand the Bees a boost in West Yorkshire this afternoon, with the tricky forward returning from a three-match ban.

The 21-year-old was dismissed in the 3-0 defeat to Derby County earlier this month, but will be hopeful of adding to his 18 Championship appearances this afternoon in Leeds.

Whilst Brentford have mixed news ahead of their trip to Leeds, Paul Heckingbottom’s Whites should have Pierre-Michel Lasogga, Kemar Roofe and Pablo Hernandez in contention, despite the trio suffering knocks.

The Verdict

Yennaris is a huge loss for Brentford, as the 24-year-old is a key man within Smith’s side.

However, the return of Canos can be seen as a huge positive, with the forward sure to cause a vulnerable Leeds defence some problems at Elland Road.

There is a lot riding on this afternoon’s contest, with both sides needing a victory.
