Sky Bet Championship side Swansea City are not interested in signing Chelsea youngster Kyle Scott, according to reports from Wales Online.

Reports from Football Insider on Monday afternoon claimed that the Swans, along with Italian Serie B side Ascoli, were interested in landing the exciting American under-20 international, with the Welsh side looking to ignite a play-off push in the second tier.

The 21-year-old has been impressive in the first half of the campaign on loan for Dutch side SC Telstar, scoring two goals in fourteen games during his loan spell away from Stamford Bridge - however, reports from Wales Online now claim that Graham Potter's men are not interested in landing the playmaker.

Scott signed for Chelsea from Premier League rivals Southampton at the age of nine, and has made just one appearance for the Blues, which came off the bench against Hull City in the fifth round of the FA Cup last season.

Swansea currently sit 13th in the Sky Bet Championship table, six points off the play-off places after winning just one of their previous five league games.

The Verdict

This is a real blow for Swansea as Scott looks to be a really exciting player on paper, but if Potter doesn't know anything about him or just simply isn't interested, then that is fair enough.

Swansea still have to sign another playmaker, as Oli McBurnie cannot do it all on his own up top for the Swans.

We've seen the likes of Mason Mount go to Holland from Chelsea and excel in this league, so it must be a shame for Swansea fans.
