Liverpool’s preference is another domestic loan for Harry Wilson next season, with Leeds United amongst the clubs interested in signing the Welsh winger.

Leeds are pushing for promotion back to the Premier League this season, and according to Alan Nixon, should Marcelo Bielsa’s side return to the top table of English football, they’ve got Wilson on their radar.

Wilson, 21, has been in impressive form for Derby County this year, scoring 12 goals in a productive loan spell under Frank Lampard.

And, GOAL are reporting that another loan move next season is Liverpool’s preference, although the club are expected to field permanent offers for the Welsh international.

However, the report states that Leicester City’s interest in signing Wilson could now begin to fade following the appointment of Brendan Rodgers at the King Power Stadium.

This weekend, Wilson will be looking to keep Derby’s play-off push on track against Sheffield Wednesday, with the Rams hoping to build on a midweek win over Wigan Athletic.

Whilst across the Championship, the winger’s potential suitors, Leeds, travel to Ashton Gate to take on Bristol City.

The Verdict

Wilson has impressed this season at Derby and if he continues to do so, Liverpool will be fielding serious interest in the summer.

From Leeds’ perspective, they probably need promotion if they are going to get their hands on the winger.

Their focus can’t drift away from that at this stage, no matter how much talk builds regarding Wilson’s future.
