Manchester United are set to recall defender Cameron Borthwick-Jackson after his unsuccessful loan spell at Leeds United with the option to send him elsewhere, according to reports in the Daily Mail

Reading and Fulham have both shared an interest in the defender, with Jaap Stam an admirer of the defender, while Slavisa Jokanovic wants to play Ryan Sessegnon further up the pitch.

Under the guidance of Louis Van Gaal, Borthwick-Jackson became a regular in the Manchester United line-up during the 2015-16 season, as he enjoyed a short stint as a first-team player.

Although, since going out on loan to Wolverhampton Wanderers and now Leeds United, the defender has been surplus to requirements after some abysmal displays for both teams.

Indeed, with hopes of a revival at Elland Road in terms of his footballing career, it got even worse as he looks to be punching well above his weight with football in the Championship.

With Fulham seeking Ryan Sessegnon's goal-scoring abilities, they now want to move him up the field into a more advanced position, with Borthwick-Jackson a replacement that Jokanovic likes the look of.

But, with interest flooding in from all angles, it looks like promising times ahead for the youngster.

The verdict

Struggle to understand the attraction.

The Manchester United defender has been woeful so far this season, after six poor performances at Leeds United, you do wonder what attracts teams to the player.

Although, with him hungry to prove a point. The addition of the youngster could see your side bolstered in attacking and defensive areas.
