Former Blackpool owner, Owen Oyston could be set for a shock return to the club as he is understood to be one of the parties interested in taking over the Seasiders according to the Daily Mail.

The report claims that there are three potential investors interested in purchasing the club

Oyston is believed to still be working behind the scenes with Blackpool, as he looks to regain control of the League One side.

If he was to takeover the club, then it would be a move that certainly wouldn't go down well with the Blackpool supporters, many of whom were delighted to see the back of him recently.

Blackpool had a number of ownership problems in the past when the Oyston family were in charge of matters off the pitch until the courts ordered their removal earlier this year.

Andy Pilley, a lifelong Blackpool supporter, is also said to be interested in purchasing the club, whilst also owning Fleetwood Town.

The third party interested in taking over is Simon Sadler, who is the founder of Hong Kong asset management firm Segantii Capital.

It remains to be seen as to who will come out successful in taking over the club, but Blackpool supporters will be keeping their fingers crossed that it isn't anyone connected with the Oyston family.

The Verdict:

This simply cannot happen.

If you're a Blackpool supporter hearing this news, then you've got every right to be concerned as this would be the worst possible outcome if Oyston was to return to the club.

Surely Blackpool wouldn't be stupid enough to let him takeover the club?
