QPR reportedly expect winger Bright Osayi-Samuel to complete his move to Club Brugge after he travelled to Belgium yesterday for additional negotiations and a medical.

It is understood that the Belgian top-flight side have agreed a £4.75 million deal with the R's for the 22-year-old – beating off competition from Premier League-bound West Bromwich Albion.

Osayi-Samuel is coming off the most impressive season of his career – having provided six goals and nine assists for Mark Warburton's side this term.

However, with his deal expiring in 2021 and the winger unwilling to sign a new deal it appears that the west London club are set to lose the winger.

According to The Daily Mail, QPR expect Osayi-Samuel's move to Brugge to be completed after he travelled to Belgium yesterday.

The report claims he flew over on Tuesday for more negotiations and to complete his medical.

Osayi-Samuel snubbed a move to Manchester United to join Blackpool early on in his career and after establishing himself in the Tangerines' first team, made the switch to QPR in August 2017.

He and 21-year-old playmaker Ebere Eze have been two of R's the bright sparks this term but it appears they could both be set to leave this summer – with Eze heavily linked with a Premier League move.

The Verdict

This will likely not be a huge surprise to R's fans but it appears Osayi-Samuel's move to Brugge is nearly done.

While it is a shame to see him leave the Championship, you have to credit the courage he's showing by making a move to a foreign top-flight side – something that is becoming increasingly popular among English players but remains a rarity.

With rumours of Eze's potential exit circling as well, QPR's could be a very different looking side in the final third next term.
