Jack Harrison was recalled from Leeds United last week, with Manchester City running the initial rule over all their loan players as the Premier League clubs returned to training ahead of the Championship.
Leeds have overseen Harrison’s development over the course of the last two seasons, with the 23-year-old progressing nicely under the management of Marcelo Bielsa and establishing himself as a real fan favourite this season.
In his last outing, he registered an assist in Leeds’ 2-0 win over Huddersfield Town, as the Whites moved back to the top of the Championship and just nine games away from a Premier League return.
Quiz: Have Leeds United done these 15 things in the last 10 years? – Yes or no?
Of course, the season is on hold and has been for nearly three months, but now plans are being put in place for the season’s resume.
Bielsa’s squad were back in training this week, following the lead of the Premier League.
For Harrison, however, he was back at City last week – as per TeessideLive – with the Premier League Champions running the rule over all their senior loan players after a long break.
That same report notes that was the same for Lukas Nmecha and Patrick Roberts at Middlesbrough, but that pair have now returned to Teesside ahead of the Championship’s resume.
City are an elite club from top to bottom and how they run things is the example to everyone.
They will have Harrison’s best interests in mind and this will just be standard procedure for them.
The fact that Boro will now link back up with their loan pair from City will ease any fears in the minds of the Leeds fans regarding Harrison not returning, which would be catastrophic.
