There is a high chance of Joe Bryan leaving Bristol City this summer, as Premier League interest continues to grow.

Burnley are reportedly leading the race to sign Bryan this summer, with the Premier League club hopeful of securing a £6m deal with Bristol City for the left-back’s service.

The Bristol Post have now confirmed that it is looking highly likely that Bryan will be departing Ashton Gate this summer, and although a new deal is not out of the question, they are expecting him to depart.

The 24-year-old’s reputation has continued to grow following some impressive performances in the Sky Bet Championship and Bristol City’s Carabao Cup run.

Across both competitions, Bryan made 48 appearances, scoring an impressive seven goals from full-back and also registering three assists.

Lee Johnson’s side stayed in play-off contention for much of the Championship season, but eventually fell away and finished 11th.

Bryan was key to their good Championship form, and also their Carabao Cup run, which was ended at the semi-final stage.

The 24-year-old full-back scored in a memorable 2-1 victory over Manchester United in the quarter-final.

The Verdict

Bryan has had a superb year in the Championship, proving to be one of the division’s standout performers at full-back.

Premier League interest is hardly a surprise and it seems like it will be difficult for Bristol City to stand in Bryan’s way this summer if he wants to leave.

The Ashton Gate club will be looking to earn as much money from any potential sale.

A hefty fee will help boost Lee Johnson’s transfer kitty.
