Beneath the first-team at Leeds United there is some incredibly talented young players.

Leeds are top of the Championship and on the cusp of a Premier League return, but despite that, Marcelo Bielsa has had faith in the club’s young players when needed.

Jamie Shackleton has been amongst those to excel, whilst Alfie McCalmont, Pascal Struijk, Robbie Gotts and Oli Casey are other youngsters to have debuted this season across Leeds’ campaign.

Quiz: Have these 15 current Leeds United players been capped at international level? – Yes or no?

In the under-23s, Ryan Edmondson scores goals for fun, but a second appearance under Bielsa does evade him.

But, who is the biggest prospect currently bubbling away under the surface at Elland Road?

There’s a rare shout for Gotts, McCalmont and Edmondson, but the majority of fans appear to have the highest hopes for dynamic midfielder, Shackleton.

We head to Facebook to dive into the debate….

Gail Rnew: “Have hopes for them all but not all will succeed. Gotts has Bremner written all over him.”

TomTom Winter: “You could make an argument for any of the lads in the u23's but for me probably McCalmont.”

Massingham Arthur Richard: “Shackleton he reminds me of David Batty very hungry for the ball and he don’t want anyone go by him.”

James Ryan: “At the moment it looks like Shackleton. Dark horse, Struijk.”

Paul Anthony Lufc Davies: “Edmondson if given a chance. Might not run all over pitch but that lads knows where net is.”

Jan King: “Shackleton all day long.”

Alan Lufc Tatum: “Shacks.”
