QPR have finally begun to pick up a little form in the Championship and under Ian Holloway, they’re looking a far better outfit than they have in weeks.

The Hoops have been somewhat swallowed up in a league that many former Premier League teams have struggled to escape from but thanks to Holloway, his players are finally beginning to perform.

They picked up a very decent point away at Leeds United last weekend and after the 5-1 drubbing of Rotherham on Saturday, there’s plenty of optimism around Loftus Road that they might be able to make a push for the play-offs next season.

Holloway will have the full summer to recruit and get rid of some of the deadwood that still litters this squad.

But away from this current QPR side, we’ve seen far worse and more forgettable players turn out for the Hoops in the past and we want to open the vault to take a look.

So with that in mind, here’s TWO players you probably forgot ever played for QPR…

Taye Taiwo

If there’s anyone that failed to live up to expectation at QPR over the past few years, it’s Taye Taiwo, who signed for the club for the 2011-2012 season on-loan from AC Milan.

He was the Nigerian youngster that was supposed to emulate the likes of Jay Jay Okocha, who of course, was one of the best players Nigeria has ever seen.

But he was a bit of a let-down and really didn’t do himself much justice whilst at Loftus Road.

He returned to Milan and didn’t quite fulfil his potential there either.

Jay Simpson

Again, former Arsenal striker Jay Simpson made the move to QPR on a loan move in an attempt to really break into the squad at his parent club.

He had a much better time of it than Taye Taiwo though, and scored 12 goals in 39 appearances during his time with the club.

Unfortunately, he didn’t have much joy breaking into the Gunners first-team and now 28, he plays for the Philadelphia Union in the MLS.
