Sheffield Wednesday are not looking to secure a summer deal for Jack Hunt, according to Yorkshire Live reporter Dom Howson.
The Owls are looking ahead to a busy transfer window as they look to put plans in place following their relegation from the Championship.
Darren Moore’s side are likely to look completely different on the opening day of the new campaign with a large number of players out of contract this summer, and that means that new faces aplenty could be heading to Hillsborough.
One player who has been tipped for a move to the club is Jack Hunt.
The right-back faces an uncertain future after being released by Bristol City at the end of the season following the expiry of his deal at Ashton Gate.
Hunt is a familiar face at Hillsborough have played for the Owls before joining the Robins, but according to the Yorkshire Live reporter, Sheffield Wednesday are unlikely to be among the clubs interested in a move for the 30-year-old.
Addressing the speculation, Howson said: “As for Hunt, I don’t think he’s a player Wednesday are after at the moment.”
Quiz: Did these 18 players make more than 100 Sheffield Wednesday appearances?
Personally, I think that this would be a really good move for Sheffield Wednesday.
The Owls will need leaders next season and there’s no doubt that the 30-year-old full-back would be a player who would come in and make an immediate impact.
Jack Hunt knows what is expected of him at Hillsborough and so I believe that he’d be a smart addition given the circumstances.
However with Dom Howson suggesting that the Owls won’t be making a move, it seems like they may have other targets in mind.
