Leeds United have announced their squad to face Sheffield United today, as Marcelo Bielsa looks to guide his team to a valuable three points in the Championship.

The first XI is very much business as usual for the Whites, but the bench makes interesting reading, where young winger Jack Clarke returns to the bench from injury.

However, there is no place in the squad at all for Chelsea loanee Izzy Brown, who finds himself left out once again after a disappointing and injury ravaged season at Elland Road.

Although at first glance it appears that Brown has simply been left out, respected journalist Phil Hay has revealed that Brown was actually taken ill yesterday, forcing Bielsa's hand somewhat in his selection.

It's another bitter blow for Brown, who had been working his way back to fitness for the Leeds second string and would have been hoping to have been involved in the crucial fixture with Sheffield United today.

Leeds though and Bielsa will no be looking to be drawn into how Brown's loss can impact the team too much, and they will be hoping their tried and trusted XI of late can do the business against an in-form Chris Wilder outfit.

The Verdict

This just about sums up Brown's season doesn't it?

He's just never got going and just when he threatens to finally look like making an impact on the first team, he goes down ill.

I think Brown's spell will be remembered as being a bit of a disappointment when we look back, although he could still well win a second promotion for his own personal CV.
