Blackburn Rovers' move for Nottingham Forest youngster Ben Brereton is dependant on the relevant sell on clause being inserted into any deal.

That is the view of respected journalist Alan Nixon on Twitter this morning, who claims Forest are willing to sell 'at the right deal'.

The 19-year-old is the subject of an £8m bid from Blackburn in what was a surprising move by the Lancashire club, and with Forest undergoing a summer of heavy investment, the club look like they are indeed willing to allow the England youngster to make a move if he wishes.

Brereton was touted as one of the most highly rated prospects outside of the Premier League when he burst onto the scene 18 months ago, but has seen his progress stall somewhat towards the end of last season and at the beginning of this under Aitor Karanka.

Blackburn's big money move comes as something of a surprise, after years of the club being forced to tighten the purse strings under controversial owners Venky's.

However, an £8m move could well be on the cards as it stands, and if Forest can indeed cover themselves for any future sale, then Brereton could well be on his way come the end of the August.
