Pablo Hernandez is set to return for Leeds United this weekend, when Thomas Christiansen’s side welcome Norwich City to Elland Road in the Sky Bet Championship, reports the Yorkshire Evening Post’s Phil Hay.

Leeds were without the former Spanish international last weekend against Queens Park Rangers, as he recovered from a knock picked up against Aston Villa the previous week.

Christiansen has confirmed today that Hernandez will be available for Norwich’s visit to Elland Road this weekend, with the 32-year-old playmaker expected to be pushing for a recall.

Pierre-Michel Lasogga joined Hernandez on the training field this week, but the on-loan German striker is not expected to be ready following over a month out of action with a leg injury.

Leeds will also be without Stuart Dallas, who is recovering from his respective injury, but Christiansen had more positive news on attacking duo, Hadi Sacko and Jay-Roy Grot.

Both Sacko and Grot were absent from last weekend’s trip to Loftus Road, but will be back in contention to bolster Christiansen’s attacking options, which were beginning to look stretched.

Leeds enter tomorrow’s contest with Norwich in seventh, looking to narrow to four-point gap between themselves and Sheffield United.

The Verdict

Hernandez’s return is absolutely key for Leeds, with the 32-year-old a vital member of Christiansen’s squad.

Prior to his injury, Hernandez looked like he was rediscovering his best form, striking up a real understanding with Samuel Saiz and Ezgjan Alioski in attack.

It would be no surprise to see Hernandez walk back into Christiansen’s starting XI tomorrow afternoon.
