Reliable journalist Phil Hay has┬árevealed on Twitter that Leeds United do not have an “option to buy” clause in Kyle Bartley’s loan deal.

Kyle Bartley has been one of Leeds United’s top performers this season as Garry Monk’s side aim to win promotion to the Premier League.

Their current position in the play-off zone has been testament to the brilliant centre back partnership created between loan duo Kyle Bartley and Pontus Jansson.

Pontus Jansson has firmly established himself as a fans’ favourite at Elland Road and he had an option in his deal to make his deal permanent from Torino, which Leeds have since triggered.

Bartley, however, does not have such a clause.

The Swansea City centre back has been attracting interest from the Premier League recently as a result of his good performances this year so Leeds may struggle to keep him if they fail to win promotion at the end of this season.

Leeds fans – what do you make of this news? Can you keep Bartley? Let us know in the comments below…
