Leeds United aren’t expected to make a move for Marcus Maddison at this late stage of the summer transfer window.

Maddison has been placed on the transfer list at Peterborough United this summer, but so far, a move hasn’t materialised for the forward, who scored eight goals and registered 16 assists last season in League One.

Leeds have been amongst those linked, with a supporter taking to Twitter to ask Phil Hay from the Yorkshire Evening Post about the possibility of the Whites making a late move for the 24-year-old.

The reliable journalist’s response has shut down speculation, indicating he would be surprised if Maddison made the move to Elland Road.

Leeds have made an impressive start to the season, with their attacking midfield options excelling under Marcelo Bielsa.

Mateusz Klich has scored two goals in two games in an advanced midfield position, whilst the likes of Samu Saiz, Pablo Hernandez and Ezgjan Alioski have all been amongst the goals and assists, with Leeds scoring nine goals in their opening three games under Bielsa.

Bielsa’s side will be looking to maintain their 100% start to the season on Saturday, when they welcome Rotherham United to Elland Road.

The Verdict

Maddison is a good player, but there is a reason that nobody has snapped him up yet this summer.

Leeds have consistently been linked throughout the summer, but with their attacking players in great form, a move would be a surprise.

However, the transfer window can be unpredictable and things could change quickly.
