West Brom are set to confirm Jimmy Shan as their caretaker manager for the next two league games as they continue their search for Darren Moore's successor.

Reliable journalist, Mike McGrath confirmed the news on Twitter, and this news is certainly going to be met with a mixed reaction from the club's supporters.

There are sure to be questions raised as to why the club decided to sack Darren Moore, without a replacement being lined up in the near future.

McGrath also went on to admit that their interest in Jokanovic has cooled in recent weeks, which could be down to the reported £2m wages he was demanding according to TEAMtalk.

West Brom are currently sat 4th in the Championship table and are 11 points adrift of the automatic promotion places, which seem like a difficult ask now.

Shan is expected to be in charge of the first-team this evening when they take on Swansea at The Hawthorns in what is a must win game for the Baggies if they are to have any chance of reaching the top two.

But the West Brom supporters will be hoping that they can have a permanent manager appointed at the earliest of opportunities to help get their promotion bid back on track.

The Verdict:

What an odd decision this is.

There was no point in sacking Darren Moore as early as they did if they are just going to appoint a caretaker manager who certainly isn't an upgrade on Moore.

This decision will cost them valuable points in the promotion race.
