Wolverhampton Wanderers are still considering brining a striker to Molineux to bolster Nuno Espirito Santo’s attacking options, according to the Express and Star’s, Tim Spiers.

With the transfer window closed Wolves are looking at free agents, with a striker still on the club’s radar, after they missed out on a high-profile target during the summer.

Nouha Dicko’s sale left Nuno with Leo Bonatini as the club’s only recognised senior striker, and despite the Brazilian's early season form, reports suggest Wolves are keen to add a free agent to their squad.

At this current time, Spiers was unable to name any targets, but could confirm that the Sky Bet Championship outfit were looking to lift the pressure currently on Bonatini.

Despite their failure to add a striker to support Bonatini over the summer, Wolves have made an excellent start to the 2017/18 campaign, with Nuno’s side looking set to compete for a Premier League return.

Wolves have 20 points from their opening nine fixtures of the season, and will be looking to move back to the top of the Championship table this evening, when they travel to South Yorkshire to face Sheffield United at Bramall Lane.

The Verdict

Bonatini has been in impressive form so far this season, but it is no surprise to see Wolves on the lookout for striking reinforcements, particularly if they are to challenge for promotion.

Nuno will know his side can’t be too reliant on Bonatini, but will want to make sure if Wolves bring another striker in, he fits into his plan at Molineux and will not unsettle the impressive Bonatini.
