Phil Hay from the Yorkshire Evening Post has confirmed Charlie Taylor will face punishment from Leeds United, following his refusal to play for the club in yesterday’s clash with Wigan Athletic.

Taylor is out of contract at Elland Road, and having handed a transfer request in last summer, the left-back is set to leave Leeds in the coming months.

Garry Monk confirmed after the 1-1 draw with Wigan that Taylor had refused to play for Leeds, with a Premier League move potentially on the horizon.

Leeds will now take action against Taylor, who came through the club’s academy.

Taylor featured predominantly during the first-half of the Sky Bet Championship season, but after suffering an Achilles injury in late December, the 23-year old has struggled to regain his place in Monk’s side.

West Brom are one of a number of clubs reportedly monitoring Taylor’s situation.
