According to Nick Mashiter, Norwich City will look to move Michael McGovern away from Carrow Road this summer, despite the goalkeeper having two-years remaining on the deal he signed with the club last summer.

McGovern arrived on a free transfer last summer, signing a three-year deal at Carrow Road after impressing at Euro 2016 for Northern Ireland.

The 32-year old made 20 Championship appearances last season, but is expected to be moved on by Norwich in the coming months, despite the Canaries already letting two goalkeepers leave the club this summer.

Declan Rudd has agreed to join Sky Bet Championship rivals, Preston North End ahead of the 2017/18 season, whilst Norwich also released long-serving goalkeeper, John Ruddy, last month.

Manchester City’s Angus Gunn has arrived at Carrow Road on a season-long loan, providing new head-coach, Daniel Farke, with a promising goalkeeping option.

Norwich are taking a fresh approach into the 2017/18 campaign, having released seven first-team players and appointed Farke as their head-coach, for what will be his first taste of English football.

The Canaries finished a disappointing eighth in the Championship last season, and will be hoping Farke can guide the club to a promotion challenge over the next 12-months.
