Many Birmingham City fans think they are doomed before a ball has even been kicked as they respond to the new fixture list announcement.

The Blues finish their season away to Derby County - the team which fans think Garry Monk could be in charge of by then.

Already Birmingham fans are mentioning the prospect of their once adored manager coming home to St Andrew's to send them down.

Birmingham start their Championship campaign with a trip to West London to play Brentford, play Blackburn Rovers away on Boxing Day, away again at Wigan Athletic on New Year's Day and will finish their season with, of course, that home fixtures versus Derby County.

The response from Bluenoses has been pretty negative, with many fans signing off their season before it's started, saying they are destined for relegation.

The Verdict

Predicting whether someone has gotten a fortunate set of fixtures in the Championship is almost impossible, as the league is so hard to predict.

The mood amongst the Birmingham City fans isn't the best, to say the least.

The fans have taken the opportunity of this tweet to have a dig at the club rather than assess their season's chances.

The club has a tough start to the season with away games at Brentford, Forest and Swansea, with a game at home to Stoke to complete the month.

At Christmas time they face Hull, Blackburn, Leeds and Wigan which could be much worse.

To finish, they will play Stoke, Charlton, Preston and Derby which could come to be very important games for the side. Where they will be at that point is hard to call, but according to fans if it is anywhere outside the bottom three they will be happy.
