Speaking to Birmingham City’s official Twitter account, Harry Redknapp confirmed he is expecting the atmosphere inside St Andrew’s to give his players an “extra yard” against Huddersfield Town tomorrow.

The Sky Bet Championship season is coming to an end in the next few weeks, with Redknapp’s side still having plenty to play for at the bottom of the table.

Last weekend’s defeat to Aston Villa left the Blues two-points above Blackburn Rovers and the relegation zone, with two fixtures of the season remaining.

The Blues face a difficult task of picking up a victory this weekend, when promotion-chasing Huddersfield make the trip South.

However, Redknapp’s side will be backed by a sold-out St Andrew’s crowd, something the 70-year old is expecting to encourage his side, he said: “The atmosphere should give the players an extra yard.”

Birmingham are without a victory since February, but a triumph over Huddersfield tomorrow could see Redknapp’s side survive- if Villa pick up a positive result against Blackburn.

Following tomorrow’s fixture, Birmingham face a trip to Bristol City on the final day of the season.
